Jeremy & Ron use a host of minerals (and about a zillion other materials), giving the Mine Designs customer a list of materials that stretch to the moon and on.Everything from DIAMONDS to SLATE, from GOLD to IRON is used to create the GATHERING TABLE. Our passion for creating tables stems from the fact that a table is the one place where people consistently gather and enjoy family, company, bounty and give thanks.

We sincerely wish you spend much more time around the table with your friends and family.

Stone Art was inspired in part by the Stone Art from Florence Italy. In the 16th century, Florentine craftsmen perfected the art of pietre dure, piecing together cut pieces of precious and semi-precious stones in an inlay process.

Another influence came right from here in Central Oregon. The art of Rock Hounding is still alive and well, as can be seen from these Links.

Stone Art  has been  incorporated in the Mine Designs tables along with a combination of other materials and functions to bring the "Gathering Table" to life. Ron and Jeremy believe that a table should do much more than sit on a floor to accommodate one function. After all, we spend a significant amount of time around them.

The "Gathering  Table"  should breathe and come to life. To achieve this goal, the Mine Designs tables SPIN, have hidden compartments, they can HEAT your home, they can expand to seat, for example, 8-12-24 people, you can cook on them, and if our customer's imagination runs wild,  there is no end to what a table can do.

The minerals used can in fact stretch to the moon and on, using moon rock in a solar table. The "Spinning Butterfly"  table has over 50 different minerals. To get a great idea of the materials please look at Great Slabs.
